Co-founded by Tricia Jamanila and Kim Geraldez, Chicharon Adventures (CA) started in 2007 after a linguistic misunderstanding. They were out with friends reminiscing about the old book series, "Choose Your Own Adventure", when Kim asked "What is Chicharon Adventures?" Essentially, CA brands the embarrassment, but also tries to spread a message.
That message isn't found in stereotypical cultural design. We raise awareness about social conditions and about identity. We combine youth experiences, the Los Angeles/Southern California/California ethos, and ethnic and traditional values. We explore the juxtaposition of all those things, in order to transform original thoughts about cultural apparel.
The CA line is currently comprised of men's and women's graphic t-shirts and outerwear, sold in the online shop and in several California stores. In addition to ecommerce, the site also houses a blog. Through daily entries, we cultivate lasting ties with our fans, our community, and our culture. Then in May 2009, the site expanded to include an e-zine, packed with interviews from various industries: art, music, and fashion.
Above all, CA is a homegrown brand that aims to rethink, recreate, and reinvent. Join us in spreading the word. |
